Merionethshire, Wales

An administrative county of Merioneth was created under the Local Government Act 1888 on 1 April 1889 and abolished under the Local Government Act 1972 on 1 April 1974. The bulk formed the Meirionnydd district of Gwynedd, with a small area in the north east, Edeirnion Rural District, becoming part of the Glyndŵr district of Clwyd. ~Wikipedia
