Vintage ~ Whiting & Davis, Mesh Purse with Faux Tortoiseshell Handle ~ circa 1950s
Whiting & Davis, vintage mesh handbag. Beige/grey enamel mesh with a faux tortoiseshell handle. There is one pocket inside. The Whiting & Davis tag is in almost perfect condition.
Condition: Excellent condition! The brass finished frame is showing it's age. There is a bit of wear (expected wear as this bag was used!) on the clasp and on the metal frame inside the faux tortoishell handle. There is some spotting of the fabric above the Whiting & Davis label. There is one enamel top missing off of the mesh - this might be a manufacturer's flaw as there are no scratch marks to show that the enamel cap was ever attached. This is very minor on a purse that is 60 to 70 years old....
Usable! Wearable! Enjoyable! Collectable!
Size: Outside measurements are approximately 10-1/2" x 7". The frame by itself is 10" wide.
